Elements of Design

  • Hans Christian Andersen Window restored by Conrad Schmidt Studios for the grand opening of the children's room.
  • A distinctly separate space, entered from the center of Central Library.
  • Several small-group use areas  for family or individual reading, study or research.
  • Listening/learning area for large-group (10-60) use in computer orientations, storytelling, puppet shows, trainings, with puppet stage and large screen.
  • Activity center for crafts, tutoring, meetings, bag lunches (60 person capacity).
  • Special collections grouped together For example: New books; Picture books; Videos; Parent and teacher collection; Foreign language; Wisconsin authors/illustrators; Early/rare/award-winning children's book
